QUITO - TENA




Quito – Baños de Agua Santa (via Cotopaxi and Patate)
Start your adventure by riding south from Quito along the Inter-Andean Valley. If the weather allows, admire the majestic Cotopaxi Volcano, Rumiñahui, Ilinizas, and other iconic peaks of the Andes. You'll pass through the towns of Tambillo, Machachi, Lasso, and Latacunga, traveling through a region renowned for its volcanic geography and highland scenery.
From Salcedo, head into the Eastern Andes on secondary, now-paved roads, surrounded by agricultural fields of maize, quinoa, and potatoes. Enter the charming Patate Valley, famous for its winding roads and traditional cuisine. Continue towards Baños de Agua Santa, your gateway to the Ecuadorian Amazon, known for its hot springs, adventure sports, and stunning views.
En route, visit the Pailón del Diablo and Manto de la Novia waterfalls before arriving in Puyo. From there, continue to Tena, with a stop at Puerto Napo, where you’ll first encounter the Napo River. Your first night will be spent at Hatuna Matata Lodge, preparing for the next day’s rafting adventure.

After lunch, ride through the Guacamayos Ridge en route to the famous Papallacta Hot Springs. Unwind in the warm pools surrounded by a lush, natural landscape, closing the day with a special dinner.

Papallacta – Cayambe – Zuleta - Ibarra
After a relaxing morning at Papallacta, ascend to the tour’s highest point, La Virgen, at 4,000 meters above sea level, then descend toward Pifo. Travel north through the valleys of Guayllabamba, with a stop to visit the archaeological ruins of Cochasquí, which boast pre-Incan pyramids.
Continue your journey to the vibrant town of Cayambe, famous for its “Bizcochos” (traditional biscuits), then visit Zuleta, known for its artisanal textiles. End the day with a stay at the beautiful Hacienda Pimán.

Ibarra – El Ángel Reserve - Otavalo
After breakfast, ride through the picturesque province of Carchi, visiting the Afro-Ecuadorian communities in the Chota Valley. Continue to the El Ángel Reserve, where you’ll explore the unique páramo ecosystems and Polylepis forests.
After a scenic afternoon, head south to Otavalo, home to one of the largest and most famous craft markets in South America. Here, you can shop for handmade crafts before settling in for the night at Hotel Otavalo.
